your boyfriend has given his 13 year old son 4 rifles, they are kept on display, no trigger locks, ammo in the gun rack drawer under the rifles on the rackif there were, God forbid, while showing them off to his friends or picking them up to show my kids there is an "accident? Who would be held accountable?
This is the situation my sister is in and her dumba** boufriend is refusing to put the guns under lock and key. They live in Tennessee.
Criminal or civil?
Criminal neligence comes to mind.
Civil - wrongful death
Here's the issue - its not a matter of the legal issues it's matter of common sense. Firearms are dangerous and anyone with the common sense of stump knows that if there are children in the house you keep the guns locked, and the ammo in another locations also locked. Kids will be kids - and the "I teach my kids how to handle weapons yadda yadda yadda" bull only goes so far when Junior is showing off for a friend and puts a bullet into someone.
The ramifications - the knowledge that your boyfriend is a moron.
