Using a Floyd Rose for a headless guitar?
I'm currently building a guitar and i was wondering if I used a Floyd Rose bridge can I just use the tuning knobs on the bridge or does the bridge still require the machine heads to hold the strings in place,

Well, you sort of need to have the tuners on the head too. What happens is, you do your rough tuning with the regular tuners (leave the fine tuners on the bridge out almost to max), tighten the locking nut, then fine-tune with the bridge tuners. Be sure to manually stretch your strings when putting them on, tune, stretch, tune, stretch until they hold the notes pretty well before you lock 'em down. The fine tuners don't have much range - that and the strings stretching make them pretty impractical for solo usage. You'll usually run out of tuning range on your fine tuners before the strings need changing and will have to unlock the nut, back the fine tuners out, re-tune using the head tuners (you don't need to do the string stretching this time), lock the nut back down, re-tune with the fine tuners.
